Total broadband freedom

If you can see the sky, you can connect at broadband speeds. There are no "dead zones" as with cellular systems, and there will be no service outages when entering a local disaster. Anyone can point a BGAN terminal toward a satellite and be on the Internet at broadband speeds, normally in a couple of minutes.

Connect one or more computers or a TCP/IP capable device to a BGAN terminal with a standard Ethernet cable. These systems are capable of travelling and working in any country with reliable broadband Internet speeds.

Mobile office - Internet, phone and fax, standard IP, and SMS

In addition to broadband Internet, all terminals may be used for excellent voice calling. A telephone number is assigned to each terminal for making or receiving calls from anywhere. You can even be on the phone and Internet simultaneously. This leading edge technology is truly self-contained, not even requiring an external power source to operate. It is an invaluable communications resource that can be used everywhere, at anytime, even during extensive wide spread disasters.

Easy to use

Aiming the terminals and connecting to the Internet is simple and can take 1-3 minutes depending on the operator's skill. BGAN terminals communicate with either of three geostationary satellites giving it global coverage. Battery life is normally 36 hours on idle usage. Terminals are easily charged with most countries' 110V or 220V wall current. The systems can also be powered by an automotive 12V or 24V vehicle battery with the optional DC vehicle port adapter.

Advanced security requirements

BGAN uses enhanced 3G security protocols defined by 3GPP. BGAN data and signalling is protected by the Kausmi algorithm for ciphering over the satellite link. Also, many existing VPN solutions work quite well over the network. Online firewall options come standard with every BGAN system. High-Speed data made easy

FleetBroadband emulates terrestrial networks where all connected computers (or TCP-IP capable devices) are online simultaneously on a local area network. It uses standard DHCP networking for connecting up to 255 computers/devices at any time. Even the voice phones connect to system wide via a simple Ethernet jack.

Phone, Fax, SMS and ISDN

FleetBroadband delivers 21st century technology for data transmission and it includes high quality voice and fax transmission, SMS text messaging and ISDN services that you have come to expect from maritime communications systems. You don't have to give up anything.

FleetPhone

FleetPhone is Inmarsat’s new satellite phone service for the maritime sector. It is a low-cost, easy to use fixed telephony solution that is ideal both for master and crew on smaller fishing vessels, leisure craft and regional merchant fleets.

SwiftBroadband

The aviators BGAN.

SwiftBroadband is designed to meet the broadband data communications needs of passengers, cabin crew and pilots in airliners, corporate and government aircraft. This latest generation Swift service will use the narrow spot-beams of the new Inmarsat-4(I-4) satellites to supply bandwidth comparable to that of terrestrial broadband services to multiple simultaneous users in aircraft.

Support

SwiftBroadband is designed to support TCP/IP packet-mode communications, circuit-mode ISDN and multiple simultaneous voice links. The packet-mode capabilities will provide aircraft with the economy and flexibility of always-on connectivity, provided broadband access to the Internet, e-mail services and integration into ground-based private networks through VPNs.

Integration

SwiftBroadband can be integrated with embedded in-flight entertainment systems and other wired and wireless networks in the cabin to allow passengers to communicate from in-seat screens and their own PDAs and laptops. In addition, SwiftBroadband will provide the link for the onboard mobile phone services now being developed.

Swift64

In its basic 64kbps-per-channel form, Swift 64 provides ample bandwidth for applications such as high-quality voice, email, internet and intranet access, large file transfer and videoconferencing.

Data modes

Data rates can be increased to 256kbps through channel bonding and even further through data compression. The service offers ISDN and packet data and is readily integrated with ground-based networks.

Integration

Swift 64 avionics are compatible with Inmarsat's SwiftBroadband antennas and onboard infrastructure, which are already installed on many airliners and corporate jets. This makes it a very economical upgrade from earlier Inmarsat services.

IconICS Smartlink

ICS have introduced a new IconICS Smart-Link unit, as pictured above, to accommodate the expansive developments requested by our rapidly growing customer base. This enables VHF and UHF users around the world to talk to each other across a dedicated audio link via the internet. Remote locations can use either BGAN or RBGAN for the link or those users fortunate enough to operate within a mature telecoms infrastructure have the benefit of local internet or broadband.  The basic mode of operation users a second radio called the "slave" radio 
 This radio is programmed on the same channel as your existing system
 All radio traffic on your channel will now be received on the "slave" radio
 The audio is extracted from the radio and is processed and digitised by the ICONICS interface module via the secure radio gateway server
 The encoded and security tagged audio packets are routed to their destination using various secure encryption techniques
 A the destination end the radio audio traffic is decoded by either client software or another ICONICS interface module and presented as the original audio
 Our client software allows a PC user to communicate using standard multimedia devices such as desk microphone and speakers
 The client software version allows a PC user to have communications with any radio group and any other software client in real time
 The ICONICS system allows the use of total radio communications and also software client based PC to radio
 The supplied radio can also be programmed to operate on a VHF or UHF repeater to give even wider area coverage and will integrate into your existing radio network
